Nylon wears away within minutes against woody material and needs constant feeding out, which is the most tedious part of clearing an overgrown plot. Steel cuts through and keeps cutting for a whole session.
Two versions are offered, fitting most standard trimmer shafts. Important: confirm your trimmer manufacturer permits a metal blade head before fitting one - many lighter electric trimmers are not rated for blades, and fitting one to an unsuitable machine is genuinely dangerous. Always wear eye protection, sturdy boots and long trousers, keep bystanders and pets well clear, check for stones and wire before starting, and inspect the blades for damage before every use.
