Copper wire is what makes it work: it is fine enough to be almost invisible when lit, so what you see is floating points of light rather than a cable with bulbs on it. The wire also bends and holds, so the strands can be splayed, gathered or wound to shape.

Two configurations are offered. Battery power means no cable to a socket, so the cluster can go inside a jar, a vase, a lantern, a headboard or a shelf display. Use indoors, keep the battery pack dry, switch the lights off overnight, and uncoil the strands gently rather than pulling them, as fine copper wire will kink.
