Wide Blade Adjustable Snow Shovel

Velleora Home Decor's Snow Shovel is designed around the part of the job that actually hurts: the bending. An adjustable handle sets the shaft to your height, so you push from a straighter back instead of stooping over a shovel built for someone else.

The blade is a wide moulded polymer scoop that clears a broad path in each pass and slides over paving, decking and block paving without gouging the surface the way a steel edge does. A reinforced wear strip along the leading edge takes the abrasion, the shaft is a lightweight alloy so a loaded scoop is not fighting the tool's own weight, and a moulded D-grip works with thick gloves on. The whole thing hangs flat in a garage or a shed.

Push and slide the snow to the side rather than lifting where you can - lifting is where backs and hearts get into trouble. Take frequent breaks, keep your feet apart and turn your whole body instead of twisting with a loaded blade, and stop and rest if you feel any chest discomfort or breathlessness. Clear little and often rather than waiting for a deep fall to compact.
