Because the mesh lets water through, the float does not become a hot vinyl surface stuck to your back, and it can be used in several positions: lounged in like a hammock, sat in like a chair, or floated on front. The tubes are welded from heavier-gauge vinyl with reinforced seams, the valves inflate and release quickly, and the whole thing folds small enough for a suitcase.
