The Designer Glass Wall Lamp holds a glass sphere in a slim metal cradle rather than on a backplate, so the globe appears to be held rather than mounted. That small structural difference is what gives the fixture its designer character.

The sphere emits in every direction, lighting the wall behind as well as the space in front, which removes the hard shadow a directional sconce leaves. Mounted in a pair either side of a bed or a mirror, the effect is balanced and shadow-free.
