Description
Description
This Mug from Velleora Home Decor is glazed with a heat-sensitive coating that goes from opaque to clear as hot liquid is poured in, revealing a hidden design that is invisible when the mug is cold.
The reveal is the whole gift. Handed over cold it looks like a plain mug; the design only appears once the recipient makes a drink, which makes it a considerably better novelty than a printed slogan they can read immediately.
Two designs are offered. The effect reverses as the drink cools, so it works every time rather than fading after a few uses. Hand wash only - a dishwasher will strip the thermal coating within a few cycles, which is the single most common way these mugs are ruined. Avoid abrasive scourers, do not microwave it, and expect the effect to soften gradually over years of use.

Add Heat, See The Design
Pour in something hot and the glaze goes from opaque to clear, revealing a design that was not there a moment before.
It Goes Back Every Time
As the drink cools the design fades back, and it does it again with the next cup. It is not a one time trick.
Two Designs
Two designs, so it works as a gift that gets a reaction rather than a mug that gets put at the back of the cupboard.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does it work?
A heat activated glaze goes from opaque to clear when hot liquid is added, revealing the design underneath.
Does the effect wear out?
It reverses and repeats every time. Over years of use the effect does soften gradually, but that is a long way off with reasonable care.
Can it go in the dishwasher?
No. A dishwasher will strip the heat sensitive coating, which is the one thing that will genuinely ruin it. Hand wash only.
Can I microwave it?
No, keep it out of the microwave. Pour hot liquid in rather than heating the mug itself.
How do I make it last?
Hand wash it, avoid abrasive scourers on the coated surface, and it will keep working for years.
