Velleora Home Decor's High Strength Camping Guy Rope Set is the part of a shelter most people only think about once it fails. Braided from tough synthetic fibre around a load-bearing core, the line holds a tarp taut in wind, stays a manageable diameter in the hand, and does not turn into a stiff board once it gets wet and cold.
Each length runs through an aluminium tensioner, so pitching is a matter of pulling the line through and letting the plate bite - no fiddling with knots in the dark and no re-tightening at two in the morning when the fabric has stretched. A reflective tracer is woven along the outside of the braid, which catches a head torch beam and keeps people from walking into a line between the tent and the fire.
