Travertine Stone & Wood Wall Lamp

The Travertine Wall Lamp uses a solid block of natural stone as the shade, so the fixture has genuine mass rather than the appearance of it. Light passes around and faintly through the thinner edges of the stone, picking up the pale banding that runs through travertine.

Stone lit from behind behaves differently from any manufactured material: the surface holds the light rather than reflecting it straight back, which is why the glow reads as warm even when the light source itself is neutral. The wood mounting arm keeps the block from feeling cold or architectural.
