Cream Ceramic Nordic Wall Lamp

The Nordic Cream Ceramic Wall Lamp uses glazed ceramic for the shade, a material almost absent from modern lighting and immediately recognisable when it appears. The glaze catches light softly across its surface, and the cream tone warms a wall in a way painted metal cannot.

Ceramic is fired individually, so glaze thickness and tone vary slightly between pieces and the surface may carry fine crazing. Both are characteristics of the material. The weight is also higher than a metal equivalent, which means the wall fixing needs to be appropriate rather than minimal.

The light is warm and largely indirect, washing the wall rather than projecting into the room, which suits a bedroom, a dining room or a hallway. Velleora Home Decor kept the metalwork concealed. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, and the glaze cleaned with a soft dry cloth only.
