Stainless steel is the right material for something permanently wet. Coated wire racks chip at every contact point and then rust from the inside out, usually within a year; stainless does not, which is why it costs more and lasts considerably longer.

Two sizes are offered. The rack takes plates on edge with space for glasses, cutlery and a chopping board, and the drainboard angle can usually be set toward the sink. Empty and wipe the drainboard regularly rather than letting water stand in it, and descale it periodically in a hard water area - standing water leaves marks on any finish over time.
